How to convert unused attics to storage space
Posted on: 10-06-2015 by Elizabeth Yokel

An article about attic flooring at the Stamford Daily Voice written by Frank Mojica, informs readers that Stamford, Connecticut-based television producer Jeffrey Wyant produced an infomercial for Lock & Rollin, that helps convert unused attics to storage space. Wyant filmed a different Connecticut home each day for three days to illustrate how the product can be used to solve storage issues. “People aren’t initially looking for attic flooring; they’re looking for more space to store their stuff, and this is the answer," said Wyant.

“The Lock & Rollin flooring system is lightweight and compact, clean, without splinters, and can be quickly installed," said Fairfield-based professional organizer Susan Lovallo. "This product is as close as you can get to an instant storage transformation in your home.” The invention by Lock & Rollin Flooring Solutions of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. rolls over attic joists like a yoga mat. It offers an alternative to the often difficult or impossible logistics of contractors installing plywood through narrow attic entrances. Its patented design features modular slats that slide together, lock into place and roll up for easy transport.

It was important to show that, unlike plywood, our lightweight flooring slats are just under four inches wide and are 32 inches long, so they can be carried by anyone through the smallest attic openings, slid together, and rolled out to exactly cover the joists," said Krista Kersey, director of marketing and Distribution for Lock & Rollin Flooring Solutions. "Then you just screw the new floor down.
