Fire under floor damages southeast Rochester home

Hi everybody. During my web search, I found a news item, recently published at postbulletin.com, about a fire under the floor causing damage to a southeast Rocherster home. This news item, written by their staff, informs readers that firefighters were called to the 1600 block of Marion Road Southeast just before 5 p.m. on Monday after residents reported seeing smoke in their home.

Rochester, Minnesota Fire Department

Firefighters found fire in the joist space below the floor of the living room and extinguished the blaze, according to a fire department press release. The home was ventilated to remove remaining smoke. No one was injured. A section of the floor was destroyed by fire and there was minor smoke damage to the interior of the home. Damage was estimaged at $10,000, the release said, according to the news item. More at postbulletin.com.
