Clearly, there are a million reasons to celebrate at Kingspan Access Floors after closing one of the largest flooring sales in company history for a project located in the Middle East requiring about 44,000 square meters of flooring.
The Burj Alshaya Center recently bought a million Brittish pounds worth of flooring for a 45-floor office tower project under construction in Kuwait City.
The Alshaya Group, (the project developer) placed the order with Kingspan, after they were approached by Gensler's London office (design consultants). Prior to the closing of this sale, the Alshaya Group asked Kingspan to provide 1,100 square meters of flooring in 2015 for the Alshaya Group to see the finished product installed, which enabled the team to appreciate the quality of Kingspan's flooring first hand, which is now part of the overall project. The remaining portions of this project are being shipped in three phases in August 2016, November 2016 and February 2017.
"As the UK's leading raised flooring manufacturer, we were able to give the Alshaya Group the reassurance that we can supply the product in batches of 11,000 square meters in just ten days ex-works" according to Thomas Koshy, Kingspan's regional manager in the Middle East, who added "this will enable them to complete ten floors with each of the first two shipments, with a larger shipment to complete the order."
The Burj Alshaya project comprises three distinct buildings: the commercial tower, a 23-storey hotel and a podium. Kingspan is supplying ~ 35,400 square meters of panels for the office areas and 8,500 square meters of heavier grade panels to take the weight of a stone finish in the corridors and reception area supplied direct to the developer of the project.
Kingspan is a supplier and an installer of: access flooring for computer rooms, meeting rooms, data processing centers and offices. Recent projects include 30,000 square meters of flooring, installed at the First Gulf Bank in Abu Dhabi; 46,000 square meters of flooring in the Q22 skycraper in Warsaw, Poland. Current projects include the installation of 27,000 square meters of flooring at Brussels Airport. Future projects are in the works though for client confidentiality reasons, details about the projects are unavailable.
Demanding customers know they can count on Kingspan's market leading research-and-development facilities and state-of-the-art production lines capable of supplying quality products in large volumes within tight timelines.
