New flooring for terminal one of Dublin Airport
Posted on: 09-20-2016 by Floor Covering Media

At Terminal One of Dubin Airport, there is a €10 million project in progress, which will modernize and enhance the area. The above project includes new flooring within the terminal.

Since it opened in 1972, portions of the terminal has seen a bit of foot traffic, quite a bit, millions of passengers in fact, which has required renovations to certain areas of the terminal over the years.

Not all of them, though! In other areas, the original tiling remains intact, according to Dublin Airport’s Managing Director, Vincent Harrison; who said: “Terminal 1 is 44 years old and has welcomed over 400 million passengers during that time.” He is anticipating that “this new, brighter floor tile will significantly improve the look and feel of the Departures area.” Some of the check-in desks will be moved during the flooring installation. The project includes replacing the ceiling, removing some desks in window areas, to allow in the natural light, plus a makeover for the front entrance of the terminal.

Those traversing through this terminal will soon be delighting in a brighter, spacious and modern look for the Arrivals Hall. All restaurants will be consolidated into one area. The Tourist Information Office and The Bus, Travel & Information Desk will be grouped together.
