Vinyl Flooring Sales Soaring
Posted on: 08-06-2015 by Floor Covering Media

In the United States, demand for vinyl flooring is soaring, including premium luxury vinyl plank flooring, says Manasquan, New Jersey based, Smart Carpet.

What is fueling this soaring demand is the domestic hard flooring industry, which is expected to surge to $16.7 billion, or 11.3 billion square feet by the year 2019 according to a recent report conducted by the well respected, market research firm Freedonia Group. The folks at Freedonia say the 6.1 percent-per-year forecasted growth will be due in part to consumer demand for vinyl flooring options, which has merit because SMART Carpet and Flooring is already experiencing an increase in demand for luxury vinyl plank flooring.

According to SMART Carpet and Flooring's President Brendan Phillips “Luxury vinyl plank is not your mother’s vinyl flooring”. “Products like Chatham Plank by Shaw, which is one of the company's more popular options, are durable and easy to clean, yet most people would be hard pressed to tell luxury vinyl plank flooring apart from hardwood flooring. It’s really the best of both worlds, and it’s becoming the hard flooring of choice among our residential and commercial customers alike.”

Luxury vinyl plank is made in strips, which resemble hardwood flooring planks. Shaw’s Chatham Plank for instance is available in the following five colors:

Oakhill, a light oak pattern

The Exotic Rainforest Teak

Cool Angelina Hickory

Warm and Dark Carolina Hickory

Belle Meade, a golden oak pattern

Once installed, all are virtually indistinguishable from real wood. But unlike hardwood, luxury vinyl plank won’t stain or fade--and Chatham Plank by Shaw, which uses VersaLock AG Technology for secure installation without adhesive, is guaranteed to resist water damage for 25 years under normal use conditions.
