Gres Aragón-Faveker, a Spain-based tile manufacturer has set up two photovoltaic farms that generates electricity; used for day to day operations. Thanks to these farms and a new manufacturing plant, the company has reduced its CO2 emissions by an estimated 4,000 tons annually; an action that demonstrates a real commitment to energy efficiency and sustainability.

As a specialist in advanced tile solutions for the architecture and construction sectors, the company's photovoltaic farms in its Alcañiz and Acorisa plants (Aragón region) are generating clean energy without the use of fossil fuels, which is a commendable achievement. This is part of their ongoing initiative to reduce the environmental repercussions resulting from production processes.

Photovoltaic panels with a system size of 1,212 kWp have been installed are capable of meeting 25% of the company's annual demand for electricity; through its manufacturing plants. Estimated yearly capacity's about 1870 MWh of electricity, which translates into an annual reduction of 374 tonnes of CO2 emissions; a substantial contribution to the decarbonization of its activities. These farms cover a combined 3,000 square meters on rooftops and 1.6 hectares of land. A total of 2,224 545-Wp panels were installed.

In 2021, they opened a new high-tech extruded ceramic manufacturing plant; one of the most advanced ones of its kind in the Europen Union. It's designed to ensure zero waste in accordance with criteria that is based on the concepts of energy efficiency, high energy performance and the circular economy. They supplied essential component parts for a new water-powered air conditioner, which is in development at House Zero on the Harvard University Campus.

Gres Aragón-Faveker is doing things that will keep the earth healthy. This environmental care provider is continuously exploring new ways to increase their photovoltaic energy storage capacity; either with batteries or through the generation of hydrogen. These practices should reduce their CO2 emissions, would increase their energy efficiency and could improve their cost efficiency; all while sharpening their competitive edge through inspiration and creativity.
