Pebble, an organization founded by the former Apple engineer Bingrui Yang, introduces the Flow; a self-propelled, electric RV, which takes travel into the zero emissions era. How does it function? This remarkable vehicle pulls a 45 kWh battery in tow, which charges its electric motors. It is a vehicle and a home away from home with its own charging station! Imagine the possibilities!
A battery and a set of rooftop solar panels supply sufficient energy reserves.
It's an alternative energy source at home when it isn’t traveling on the road.
The Magic Hitch autonomously connects it to a users tow via remote control.
InstaCamp deploys stabilizers, stairs and an awning after pressing a button.
The flow is where home meets the road with spacious interiors for the family.
While a bit pricey at about $109,000.00, some say its features pay for itself.
Another compelling reason for the Flow is the weak link in the transformation of green energy in fhe forseeable future. Converting the world's energy infrastructure to eventually include the green technologies, as energy source alternatives (biomass, geothermal, hydroelectric, solar, tidal, water and wind), will require an investment in updating the infrastructure; this will require time.
According the International Energy Agency, ~50 million miles of power lines must be built or upgraded by the year 2040. As this infrastructure update initiative is behind schedule, it may make some sense to take matters into your own hands. While we wait for these new additions, what better way to spend the time than on a vacation with your own dedicated charging station?
Going with the Flow reduces your reliance on the grid for renewable energy that may or may not be available for decades. Of course you can always wait for the infrastructure to be updated with a reliable source of renewable energy? Though, by then, it just might be a bit too late in your life for traveling. So, why wait for renewable energy? Seize the moment and go with the Flow!
